For the past 9 months we have been working with Project Dragon-S, a UN-funded research project being conducted at Swansea University. The project aims to create artificially intelligent tools capable of understanding the models of communication used by groomers who are trying to abuse children online. The hope of the project is by identifying the communication patterns, intervention can happen earlier.
As part of our work with the project team we produced an animation that tells the experiences of a ‘lived experience’ group of survivors of child grooming and abuse. The script was developed using their words, and the storyboard was inspired by their testimonies. The animation aims to tell their personal experiences in a way that speaks to children who may be experiencing something similar, and to those in a position of power who may be able to take action to stop this happening.
